| | | | | | | Coach Bree As a native of Lansing MI, Bree is joining us from the University of Arizona. Competing as a Wildcat and earning too many career highs to list, Bree has won first and second place in many championships throughout her college career on vault and floor. As a 5 year member of Twisters USA gym she was a 2004 national competitor regional all around champion and the Region 5 All-Star team member amongst many other club career awards. She earned the all around beam champion and all around floor champion titles at her Division I high school, holds two varsity track records, and was a state contender in diving her freshman and sophomore years. In her spare time, Bree enjoys dancing, singing, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. We are excited to welcome Bree to our Champion team. | | | | | | | | |
| | Coach EmilyEmily started her gymnastics career at the age of 7 years old. With Bars being her favorite event, Emily finished at Level 10 in club gymnastics earning titles such as First Place all around at the USAG State Meet and the Bars Title at Regionals. After high school, Emily was awarded a college scholarship and went on to compete as part of the Northern Illinois University Woman's Gymnastics team. Emily has experience working with children as a student teacher during her high school career here in Michigan. When not is the gym, Emily spends her time studying as she is obtaining a Nursing Degree from Eastern Michigan University. We are excited to welcome Coach Emily to our Champion Team. | | | | | | | | | | | | Coach JessicaJessica began gymnastics at 5 years old. Competing up to level 7 with club gymnastics she finished her career on the Pioneer High School Gymnastics Team in Ann Arbor. Her strongest events included bars and balance beam. After graduating from Pioneer, Jessica went on to obtain a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan. She taught 1st and 3rd grade for 4 years in Maryland and has been a Nanny for 2 years for children ages 2-6. Jessica previously coached our pre team and level 5/6's for 7 years. She accompanied Champion Gymnasts to the International Gymnastics Camp during her previous time with our gym. Jessica has also attended the National Gymnastics Congress in Philadelphia. While not at the gym, Jessica enjoys listening to music and kayaking. Before moving onto dance in High School, Kate finished as a Level 5 gymnast. Coach Kristie Kristie is our Recreational Gymnastics Director and Gym Manager. With floor being her strongest event, Kristie finished her career as a Senior on her High School team. Kristie has attended clinics held by elite judges and various congresses keeping her up to date on the latest coaching strategies. She has been coaching gymnastics since 1987. Kristie works with all ages from parent involved classes up to Level 5 and 6. Kristie holds a Bachelors degree from Eastern Michigan University in Elementary Education. She has subbed in classrooms from Kindergarten up to 8th grade. When not in the gym coaching, Kristie enjoys scrapbooking. | | | | | | | | | | | | Coach KymChampion Gymnastics is excited to announce a new addition to our coaching staff. Kym Williams joins us as Head Coach for the Girls Gymnastics Team. Kym has been coaching for 23 years and her experiences range from beginning as a part time coach who worked with pre-K tiny tumblers, to working as a compulsory judge and finally to owning her own club and training top level gymnasts for collegiate gymnastics and beyond. Her resume is lengthy, but suffice it to say that her wealth of knowledge about safe and effective skills progressions, and helping each gymnast work up to their potential is second to none. Her boundless energy in the gym is contagious, and besides working with all levels of our team, she will be instrumental in organizing our coaching staff to place them in their respective areas of strength. Her goals are simple: she will work to ensure all athletes have a safe and fun learning experience, and make consistent gains in their skills progression. | | | | | | | | Coach RobynChampion Gymnastics would like to welcome our new athletic trainer and compulsory coach, Robyn Meyer, MS ATC. Robyn's primary focus in the gym will be injury prevention and rehabilitation. Most recently, Robyn has worked as an University of Michigan athletic medicine intern with the track and field and cheerleading teams. Prior to this, Robyn worked for one year as the athletic trainer for the Arkansas Razorback Women’s Gymnastics team. Finishing at Level 10 and achieving 3rd overall on bars at Nationals, Susan is a great addition to Champion Gymnastics. Nominated as Gymnast of the Year in 2003 by area coaches, Susan brings with her enthusiasm and excitement along with 8 years of coaching experience. Currently Susan holds a degree in Occupational Therapy and is in the process of obtaining a degree in Nursing. | | | | | | | | | | | | Coach TunishiaTunishia began her gymnastics career at age 4. With the balance beam and bars being her favorite event, Tunishia finished her career at Level 8/9. While obtaining a degree in sports medicine from Eastern Michigan University, she participated in the EMU cheer team cheering for AFL and NBA for 3 years. While not in the gym Tunishia works at the University of Michigan hospital and is currently persuing a doctorate in physical therapy and enjoys reading in her spare time. Bringing 11 years of coaching experience with her, we are excited to welcome Coach Tunishia to the Champion team. |
